In addition to this document, pre-payment must be in the form of a check from the Mississippi State Agency or corresponding Federal agency, the arriving guest must be named, and payment must be received at least 2 weeks prior to the date of the arriving guest. The certificate of tax exemption must be printed on letterhead with the arriving guest’s name included and must include the Seal of the State of Mississippi or corresponding Federal Agency. In order to be considered for tax exemption on lodging charges, a certificate of tax exemption must be provided from the state of Mississippi or from an approved Federal Agency prior to arrival.
